The restaurant currently opens at night, but 2 days per week it opens for the lunch.
My job inside the restaurant was to help the waiters and waitresses, carry food, and set up the table.
I also helped the French clients who couldn’t speak English, or had difficulty to understand. Sometimes, I translated French words and French names on the wines or on the French products.
This internship helped me to have a glimpse of different cultures. And it was really nice to meet new people like Mina my only friend in Turku, Taru the lady who helped me to visit the city and make so many things, and I also met people who from Germany, Brazil, Argentina, and so on.
Fun Facts :
- During my trip in Turku, there are many food deliverymen, and they have electric motobikes. And I really wanted to have a ride on a motobike before I left. So one night I met one and I asked him if I coud come with him, and he said YES, so I made a ride for free with him.
- I had difficulties in adapting to the electric burners. Indeed, I forgot my bread on the burners several times, because I was not used to them in France.
- In Finland I discovered how to practise rowing because I participated in a contest with Taru and the school where she worked, and hula hoop at the gym in my flat.
- Mina and I went to the sauna and to the lake. First I went to the sauna, and then I jumped into the cold lake.
As a conclusion, it was a great experience as for both my profesional and private life. I recommend this internship and this Country.
